from one sofa to another...

And the 'another' is a f*cking HUGE one!

I almost can't believe I'm writing this.

Well, actually I can believe it because it was a goal I set myself last year, as soon as I dedicated myself to the menopause cause!

And it actually happened!

A couple of months ago, I was sitting on the 'This Morning' sofa!

But It made me so bl00dy happy, excited and I felt ridiculously grateful for the opportunity.

I'd been invited to talk about my experience of struggling with menopause whilst I was in my corporate career.

If you've followed me for a while, you'll know that I lost multiple jobs in succession because I couldn't function at work.

I was constantly fatigued, never able to get to work on time.

I had brain fog, struggling to focus on the simplest of tasks.

I couldn't keep my concentration, my organisational skills had left the building and I was failing at jobs I'd previously been able to do blindfolded.

I had no idea it was perimenopause because I'd never have expected that to come along at 39.

My employers didn't ever suggest it might have been perimenopause because they didn't have the knowledge.

I had to be signed off several times and the only reasons I could give were depression and/or fatigue.

Neither of which are particularly well received by an employer.

I felt useless, a huge disappointment to others, frustrated with myself and actually - like a complete waste of space.

It took YEARS for me to finally understand what was happening to me and it's why I do what I do now - to help other women understand, to help them explain things to their employers.

In the hope they don't have to leave their job or feel inadequate.

And now I have had this wonderful opportunity to let many more women know that it's not their fault.

They're not failing.

And if I also helped employers have a better understanding, then that's a bonus too.

If this is you right now - don't feel alone

I'm here for you 💗
